Danforth offers the full range of nonwood fibers and pulps for use in the production of technical and specialty papers and wet laid nonwovens.

 
Nonwood Pulp
Flax Pulp - for the production of currency/security papers and cigarette paper.
True Hemp Pulp - primarily for use in cigarette paper.
Sisal Pulp - Both bleached and unbleached sisal pulps are ideally suited for use in dielectric papers, plug wrap, vacuum bag, tea bag/filtration papers, laminating substrates and wet laid nonwovens.
Abaca Pulp - Bleached and unbleached grades exhibiting exceptionally high strength characteristics, high viscosity and porosity make them particularly well suited to the production of dielectric papers, vacuum bag, tea bag, the full range of filtration papers and wet laid nonwovens.
Specialty cotton pulps - both rag and linter, for use in currency/security, fine writing and printing papers and technical/industrial grades.
 
Danforth can also can source kenaf, bamboo, bagasse and the full range of nonwood pulps.

Our extensive experience and expertise allows us to work with our clients to understand their specific needs and to identify the specific pulp required to achieve specified targets and meet the most critical requirements.

The nonwood pulps are frequently used in the production of various art, decorative and vellum grades of paper and may be considered as "enhancers" for commodity grades, where the attainment of high physical properties are essential.

Fibers
The full range of specialty, nonwood fibers, including flax, true hemp, kenaf, abaca, and sisal are available, in the form required by our clients.

Synthetic Iron Oxide
Danforth Technologies is the exclusive distributor for Oxidos de Hierro Sinteticos del Sureste, S.L. (OXHINSA). Established in 1973 Oxhinsa has evolved into a significant producer of high purity Synthetic Iron Oxide for applications ranging from coloring specialty papers to plastics, cosmetics, building materials, paints and pet foods. Its products are approved by all relevant government agencies and are being used by the major consumers of iron oxide throughout the world.

Danforth, its suppliers, associate and affiliate companies are I.S.O. certified or, are in the process of I.S.O. certification.

Handmade Paper
Danforth recognizes that papermaking is as much an art as it is a science. In todays industrial environment with high volume requirements, sophisticated technologies, processes and systems we often loose sight of the more aesthetic aspects of papermaking. Danforth accommodates the needs of art and handmade papermakers through the exclusive services of Lee S. McDonald, Inc. of Charlestown, MA. Lee S. McDonald is a noted designer and manufacturer of equipment for the art and handmade paper community and through this alliance we’re able to provide quality raw materials at reasonable costs to the small scale user.
